Gamers are always looking for the best possible gaming experience in terms of performance and image quality. Technology now exists to drive both aspects of gaming to a new level without complicated settings or adjustments.

In this sense, various companies have developed tools that help players to enjoy their favorite titles in incomparable ways. Nvidia is a pioneer in this sector thanks to Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLLS), a rendering technology that continues to surprise with its results.

We recently had the opportunity to learn about the news that the company already has in its hands and that will be available from today to all players. Among them are improvements to the DLLS and image scaling optimizations that will surprise you.

DLLS keeps getting better with its latest update

In case you don’t know, Nvidia’s DLLS is a rendering technology that uses artificial intelligence to offer you the best visual appearance and performance in your favorite games. The integration of the technology, present in GeForce RTX graphics cards, is increasingly common in more games, so major and upcoming releases will use it.

Nvidia stated that DLLS is already available for more than 130 games and that it has several improvements in its version 2.3, already available for titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, DOOM Eternal and more, that now they will look less ghosting and higher quality of detail, all without sacrificing image quality.

Nvidia Image Scaling arrives, an alternative just as efficient as DLSS

On the other hand, Nvidia today released a new Game Ready driver that updates and takes the Image Scaling feature to a new level. In this way, gamers can have access to a performance boost in all the games they enjoy with a GeForce graphics card.

Image Scaling offers the possibility of optimizing games in a simple way with just one click, as it offers a sharpness slider that allows you to improve the appearance of games even more. The scaling and sharpening algorithm has been improved, so multiple filters with multiple directional scales are now possible to improve performance. This is available from the Nvidia control panel and from GeForce Experience.

It is an ideal complement to the DLSS, as Nvidia defines it as “the best scaling and spatial clarity in its class”. The company wants to make some of its technology available to developers, so starting today it will also release the Nvidia Image Scaling algorithm as an open source development kit.

“While the resulting image quality is best in class compared to the scaling offered by monitors or other in-game scaling techniques, it lacks the temporal data and AI intelligence of DLSS (…) Combining Nvidia DLSS and Nvidia Image Scaling, the developer gets the best of both worlds, “the company stated.

Nvidia Introduces ICAT, Amazing Tool for Comparisons

One of the great novelties by Nvidia is the Image Comparison and Analysis Tool (ICAT), a new tool for lovers of video game quality comparisons and analysis.

It was designed to make comparing game captures or videos easier and more intuitive than ever. Allows you to face up to 4 images or videos with sliders to make it easier to capture the visual differences between them.

As if that were not enough, it offers the possibility of aligning videos temporally and spatially, and a fast zoom to detect any detail. ICAT is able to demonstrate the true potential that DLSS offers gamers over other technology.

Best of all, ICAT debuts today for free. It can be downloaded from the official Nvidia site. Below you can see part of its use and its spectacular results.
