The Game Awards 2021 will be the largest edition to date
The Game Awards 2021 is a few weeks away and in the run-up to the awards, Geoff Keighley, producer and manager, spoke with Epic Games on what we can expect for this year’s edition. At the beginning, Keighley highlighted the approach they have prepared for this year, since everything will revolve around the prizes and trailers with advances of the games that are to come, putting an end to experiments or content that in some occasions were not of interest to the spectators.

The show will have game reveals coming for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S
According to the producer, The Game Awards 2021 will be the largest in the history of the event as the number of announcements will exceed that of previous editions, as it is expected that there will be talk of between 40 to 50 games: “it’s great to have celebrities, it’s Great to have music, but I think really focusing on games is important. Especially this year, there will be a lot of content for 2022 and 2023 that will show us the largest lineup yet of world premieres and announcements. What we really learned last year was that at the end of the day, it’s really the games and the trailers that power the show. “
On the other hand, Keighley revealed that the interest of developers and publishers in The Game Awards has increased and for this year it was unprecedented. Likewise, the producer assured that during the delivery we will see important things related to the games that come for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S: “I still think that we have only touched the surface of what is possible on PS5 and Xbox Series X, so we will see some things on the show that are really impressive. We will see game footage that will remind people that the best of this industry is yet to come. “
The Game Awards 2021 will take place on December 9.
