Fun & Serious Game Festival will return to Bilbao with an edition that has announced its first speakers at the traditional conferences, which will be held in the Luxua space of BEC December 10 and 11 and that can be followed both in person and online through Twitch.
One of the confirmed names is that of Dinga Bakaba, head of study at Arkane Lyon and co-creative director of the video game Deathloop, to be one of the outstanding speakers of the cycle of presentations. Bakaba’s curriculum includes as preceding titles his work as a designer in Gray Matter (and Wizarbox), Game Designer and Dishonored and lead designer for Dishonored 2 (at Arkane Lyon), as well as his collaboration with Machine Games in the development of Wolfenstein: Youngblood and Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot.
Luis Antonio, creator of one of the most interesting titles of the year, 12 Minutes, to be another of the most anticipated speakers. His first independent work, released by Annapurna Interactive for PC and Xbox, is a thriller with clear nods to Hitchcock and Kubrik’s cinema about a man trapped in a time and space loop. Antonio has previously worked for Rockstar Games and Ubisoft, as well as Jonathan Blow, another prominent independent creator.
The American Tim Schafer, who received the Festival’s Honorary Award in 2015, will be one of the most anticipated entries. The famous person responsible for the saga Monkey Island has developed some of the most important titles of Lucas Arts and, in the last years as founder of Double Fine, has worked in the writing, creative direction or direction of titles such as Brutal Legends, Costume Quest, Stacking, Broken Age or the most recent Psychonauts 2, on sale from this summer.

“For the rest, F&S maintains its commitment to independent development by giving voice to relevant figures in the scene. Thus, in the 2021 edition, F&S will have the participation of Marina Gonzlez from Deconstructeam who will talk about pixel art, plus Elina Roinioti from Kickstarter Games and the makers of one of the biggest indie hits of the year, Eastward“, communicate the organizers.
