A new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla shows what players can expect from the free Oskoreia and Tombs of the Fallen season update.
the Assassin’s Creed The franchise could be considered the jewel in Ubisoft’s crown, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla continues to shine as the free Oskoreia season update approaches. This update brings with it the limited-time title event, as well as a new free play activity, both of which are featured in a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer.
The Oskoreia Festival is also known as the Festival of the Wild Hunt and fans of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla They may have been waiting for it since data miners found evidence of it in September 2021. This event appears to be based on Wild Hunt, a northern European folk motif found in a variety of cultures. In fact, Oskoreia is the Norwegian name for Wild Hunt.
In the trailer, players are informed of the game’s mythology surrounding the Oskoreia Festival, namely that the gods supposedly come to Midgard to hunt. Their prey is made up of both beasts and men, much like the real-life wild game. It seems this festival is a way for Eivor and company to prove that they are not easy prey through trials of martial skill, taking on waves of veiled enemies and dressing up in intimidating outfits covered in bones. The event was prominently featured in Assassin’s Creed ValhallaIt’s the latest roadmap and Ubisoft seems to have done a lot of work on it.
This limited-time event will run from November 11 to December 2, which appears to be the period when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest. Eivor will have to find a way to honor the dead so they don’t hunt down the Vikings. It’s unclear if these spectral foes will have a sci-fi explanation, but Eivor is also shown fighting a werewolf in the trailer. The event will feature a variety of new activities and rewards, including what appear to be bone decorations for Eivor and his raven, as well as the Hel’s Scythe deadly weapon.
In the same update comes the free game activity Tombs of the Fallen, which seems to give Eivor a task reminiscent of a Indiana Jones film. The trailer shows Eivor making his way through a variety of platforming challenges, sliding down a zip line, and exploring dark underground environments. These tombs appear to be filled with bats, snow, and interesting environmental touches like waterfalls, underground lakes, and corridors full of spinning traps. It remains to be seen what the main plot of Tombs of the Fallen will be, but players may be interested solely in the challenge.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on Amazon Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S.
