When Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition It didn’t take long for the first looks of misunderstanding to emerge: what’s included in this special edition for the tenth anniversary that do not include the various editions that have been published since its premiere in 2011? This week we have also learned that this new relaunch will be released in Spain at a price of 54.99 euros with the possibility of updating from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for 19.99 euros, figures that have further increased those doubts among the community of fans of the successful role-playing game.
The quick and easy answer to that question is that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition includes all creations from the Creation Club of Bethesda, a platform in which fans and members of the company itself have collaborated to give The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim of new content since its opening in 2017. Currently there are over 500 paid creations and all of these, plus four new ones, will be available in the 10th anniversary edition of Skyrim.
As we said before, the short answer to this question is that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary It includes all the creations of the Creation Club, whose total amounts to more than 500 paid content. In addition, they have developed four new creations that will not only be available in this edition, but will also be available for free if we already have The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. They are as follows:
- Fishing: A new fishing mechanic that allows us to capture creatures to cook, display or collect them. It will also include missions of its own in the Riften fishing ground.
- Survival mode: This mode was originally released in 2017 alongside Creation Club and is now completely free. It challenges us to survive in Skyrim taking into account aspects such as cold or hunger.
- Curiosities extras: With this addition we will begin to see new items in the Khajiit caravans of Skyrim, additional merchandise imported from all over Tamriel.
- Saints and seducers: Originally released in 2019, this creation includes a new storyline with two major main missions and several sub-missions, as well as new sets of armor, weapons, and enemies.
These are the four novelties that Bethesda stands out among all the creations that can be found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary, since in addition the players who already have the Special Edition They will be able to access them without having to pay for them. But there is much more content that will be included in the special edition for the game’s 10th anniversary. There is still no complete list of everything that includes, although if we access the Creation Club from the game menu itself we can see all the available creations: all of them will be included in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary.
Among all these creations there are some that Bethesda is highlighting in its official blog, explaining what novelties it brings and how they extend the original experience. Thanks to these updates we have been able to know in depth The cause, a creation integrated into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary leading us to fight the Mythic Dawn, a cult we last saw in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and that he has returned to rebuild one of the portals of Oblivion.
There are creations with new weapons and armor, What Court ghosts that allows us to obtain more than 12 new weapons and armor that appeared previously in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, O Interception, which will give us access to elite Red Guards weaponry. Will include new staves and spells for magicians, as well as new legendary swords that we will have to rescue from the ruins following the gossip we hear in the cities. But not everything is about violence, since new houses, like the Mansion of Iceblood or Nchuanthumz, the dwarf house, and new mechanics that will allow us manage a farm at will.
It is important to note that for this edition these creations have been redesigned so that they appear integrated into the game world itself, with its own missions and other methods, thus avoiding having to activate them in a menu as has been the case up to now with the Creation Club news.
How is it different Skyrim Anniversary Edition of the rest of the editions?
During the last 10 years several editions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on various platforms, something that has even served as meme meat but which can also mislead players. The new special edition for the tenth anniversary is consolidated as the definitive version since includes all the advantages of the previous definitive version, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, and adds all the creations that we have seen before. This means that in addition to the new content it also includes remastered graphics, improved performance, and the original three major expansions: Hearthfire, Dawnguard and Dragonborn.
Who already have The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition will receive free graphics and performance improvements for next-gen consoles and a pack with the four new Creation Club expansions. Also, if you want to improve your game you can get Skyrim Anniversary Edition at a reduced price of 19,99 euros in Spain. This figure will give them access to all the content of the Creation Club that they do not yet have, a payment that will probably pay much more than trying to buy the more than 500 creations, which are sold through their own credit on the Bethesda platform.
What is the Creation Club? Do creators charge for their work?
Bethesda opened the Creation Club (officially translated in Spanish as ‘Club de creaciones’) in the summer of 2017 so much for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim how to Fallout 4, which had been out a couple of years before. The arrival of this platform was surrounded by controversy considering that the company intends to use it to charge for mods, which have always been creations that the community offers altruistically accepting, at most, donations. To break away from that idea, Bethesda explained that the Creation Club creations would be collaborations between the company’s own development team and fans accepted to participate in the program.
Not everyone can publish and sell their creations in this club, as Bethesda must accept a login form before accessing as creator. In addition, when applying to join, keep in mind that creations must be new and original, previous mods cannot be recycled or sold works already published on free platforms. In return, Bethesda leaves these people a gap to publish their material on PS4, Xbox One and PC with a refinement schedule (with alpha, beta and release phases) by which it is ensured that it works properly in all editions of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
As if that were not enough, all that content created by the community and endorsed by Bethesda goes through a multilingual localization process, including Spanish. The final result is practically identical to that of official content, only that it is sold within the game itself and that it is created by personnel not directly hired by the company. Yes, Bethesda assures that all these creators receive financial remuneration: “Like our video game developers, Creators are paid for their work and will begin to receive remuneration as soon as their proposal is accepted and passes the development stages,” they explain in their official page.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary arrive on November 11 to all platforms except for Nintendo Switch, which keeps its standard version of the Bethesda game including its three major expansions. On PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One y PC you will be able to enjoy all this new barrage of content for 54,99 if we buy the game in digital or physical format (which will only be available on PS4 and Xbox One) or 19,99 if we update from Special Edition. In addition, in new generation consoles you can enjoy a graphical improvement and loading times that will be available through free update for all owners of either version of the game.
