The video game industry has given us great entertainment and fun for decades and although at some point it was weighed as an ideal job, the reality has been a bucket of cold water and, like many work environments, there are diverse problems and conditions that they must be improved. Recently, the controversy has been concentrated in Activision Blizzard and its work environment and it seems that a real Pandora’s Box was opened that has allowed us to hear testimonies about what is happening in the company and yesterday more information was shared about it.

Activision Blizzard Workers Share Their Worst Company Experiences

Social networks have been a great reporting channel regarding situations in all kinds of sectors. In the midst of the scandal at Activision Blizzard, the Twitter account of Activision Blizzard King Workers Alliance, which supposedly gives voice to workers of the video game company, made an invitation for those who were affected by labor problems that have come to light share their experience.

After the invitation, the response section to the tweet was filled with testimonials from users who once worked at Activision Blizzard and who have accused the company of offering employment in precarious conditions in terms of labor rights and wages. Some publications point out the lack of benefits and social security, the lack of certainty regarding contracts, as well as strenuous working hours, no vacations and no paid days off.

There seems to be a huge gap between workers, developers and managers

At the same time, a common denominator that has appeared among the accusations has to do with the prohibition to communicate with important developers and directors of Activision Blizzard, which, according to these testimonies, has created a job gap that in turn causes communication problems and in which they, without permanent contracts, are the most harmed.

On the other hand, it seems that Activision Blizzard’s worker base suffers the most exploitation as one of the publications refers to weekly payments, permanence subject to “results”, promises that the best workers will receive formal contracts and periods of compulsory leave without pay salary according to the needs of the company.
