Nintendo Switch Online has generated controversy almost since its launch, as the Switch service has not convinced all players for various reasons. The platform has been criticized for its operation, the content it offers and, recently, for the price of its Expansion Pack.

Despite the fact that a section of the community has been very vocal and has pointed out the shortcomings of Switch Online, the number of subscribers to the service is on the rise and Nintendo boasted it in its most recent financial report.

Shuntaro Furukawa, president of the company, took the opportunity to confirm that Nintendo Switch Online will continue to evolve and grow with various new features in the future.

The number of Switch Online users keeps growing

It is worth remembering that, as of June of this year, Nintendo Switch Online already had more than 26 million active subscribers globally. Now we know that the number of users of the service is growing little by little, but constantly.

Thanks to this, Switch Online registered the not inconsiderable amount of more than 32 million users until last September 30. Furukawa said that continually improving the service is important to the company, as this ensures that many more players continue to enjoy their favorite games on Switch.

The manager mentioned the game tests that the service sometimes offers and the arrival of the Expansion Pack as some of the innovations that have been implemented in recent months. His goal is to add other improvements to the platform in the coming months.

“In the future, we will continue to improve and expand both the Nintendo Switch Online and the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, striving to provide services that satisfy consumers,” said Furukawa.

Not everyone is happy with Nintendo Switch Online

The online service for Switch has received harsh criticism from the community and has been in the headlines for various reasons, such as failing in its basic features and ruining even official tournaments. There are also users who are not entirely satisfied with the offer of classic titles that the platform currently offers.

On the other hand, the arrival of the Expansion Pack left much to be desired due to its criticized price and various emulation problems. This caused its trailer to be the Nintendo video with the most dislikes on YouTube.
