Dawn of the Monsters announced, a kaiju fighting game with Godzilla’s art designer

Toronto publisher WayForward and developer 13AM Games announce exclusively via IGN (via Nintendo Enthusiast) Dawn of the Monsters, a new Cooperative fighting title focused on large-scale battles between kaiju and gigantic robots. Dawn of the Monsters will launch sometime in the first half of 2022 and be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. The game has been seen in a first trailer that shows us first-hand its curious aesthetics cartoon and the different creatures that we can handle.

If the design of some monsters has been familiar to you, it is most likely that six Godzilla fans, since Dawn of the Monsters has the participation of Shinji Nishikawa, the famous radioactive lizard universe character designer, and Matt Frank, a cartoonist of Godzilla comics. The video game allows players to choose from four monsters to play with customizable appearances: Megadon, Ganira, Aegis Prime y Tempest Galahad. The characters that we can handle have special movements and abilities such as “Brutal Fury” or “Cataclysm Attacks” that will make things difficult for our opponents.

35 main levels and final bosses

The main battle arena is about the fictional city of New Toronto, which will be completely reduced to rubble after each fight between the monsters. Those responsible promise that there will be 35 main levels and more than a dozen basic enemies, plus final bosses, so the content that the game brings with it seems to be quite generous. At the moment we do not know specific details about its release date, although from IGN they indicate that we will have to wait until the date they have planned approaches to learn more information about the title itself and the possible editions that will accompany it.
